Why You're Feeling Burned Out

I remember the day I stopped sleeping. I would go to bed exhausted and then lay awake for most of the night, unable to sleep.

I was an emotional mess, swinging from anger and frustration to dissolving into tears at the slightest thing.

I felt nauseous all the time and started experiencing all kinds of injuries.

I had no idea what was happening to me, so I kept keeping on for more than a year.

Then my trainer fired me because I was trying to make my body to the impossible in its run-down state, and a Naturopath confirmed that I was experiencing the symptoms of burnout.

WHAT? I was dumbfounded and totally lost. Where do I go from here?

Have you ever experienced burnout?

Or maybe you’re in the middle of it right now?

These days more and more women are experiencing the impact of burnout as we approach midlife. It’s time when our bodies and our lives tell us in no uncertain terms that we cannot continue the way we have been living. Often burnout is the “brick in the head” moment we need to jar us into that reality.

And for good reason.

Midlife is where we are being called to our most authentic selves, and burnout happens because we are not living in alignment with our truth.

Recently, Natalia Kantor, founder of the Powerful Women Club, and I had a great conversation on my Podcast about burnout. Check it out here.

If you listen, I’d love to hear your thoughts, your experiences and your questions.
