It's Your Story!

Not to get too morbid, but... Have you ever thought about the story of your life? Your legacy? The stories you want to be able to tell your great-grandchildren about how you lived? Or even what your obituary might say? ⁣

I’ve been finding myself in these thoughts quite a bit lately. Maybe it’s because I’ve attended a few funerals this year or the fact that I’m only a year away from the age that my mother was when she died. Either way, I am so aware of just how short this life really is and that we only get one shot at it. ⁣

Listening to eulogies and stories of those long past I hear words and phrases like fearless, courageous, passionate and live life to the fullest. And it prompted me to ask myself.... ⁣

Am I living courageously? ⁣
Am living my life to the fullest? ⁣
Where am I holding back? ⁣
Am I honouring my truth? ⁣

I want my story to be about following my heart and taking chances..... even when they didn’t quite work out; That some of the most unexpected outcomes were the greatest gifts; That I was passionate about honouring my truth and leaving the world better than I found it. ⁣

Nowhere in my story do I want to say that I didn’t live the life I wanted because I was too busy, afraid, ran out of time or didn’t have the perfect plan; That my comfort zone was too comfortable to follow my heart and chase my dreams. ⁣

The great women in history didn’t set out with the perfect plan to make history. They were simply women who followed their hearts, honoured their truths and took chances even when they were afraid and had no idea where it would end up. ⁣

What do you want your story to be?

As always, I love to hear from you. Hit reply and tell me the story of your next chapter.
